Volunteer

There are many unique ways to donate your time and talent. While our volunteers don’t work directly with the kids we serve, every volunteer helps our children find safety and healing. Our center directors will work directly with you or your group to tailor your volunteer experience. Here are just a few of the possibilities:

Gather a group to join the fun! Groups can meet at the local center to complete projects such as nurturing our planting beds, cleaning the playroom, creating activity or hygiene packs for kids, or decorating the center for the holidays.

Individuals with just an hour or two can sort teddy bears, organize supplies, prep materials for prevention training sessions. Many volunteers have a unique skill or vocation that enables them to provide important services to the center. That can range from sewing to photography to data management.

Help us raise public awareness. Share our mission, our training, and our special events. Use social media and talk about the center’s work with the people in your life. Sign up for our updates and forward our Facebook posts to your contacts.

Collect items for the kids. Gather your friends or family together and hold a wishlist collection drive. Ask your workplace or place of worship if they are interested in participating, too.

Volunteer at one of our special events. Whether it is a fundraiser or an awareness raiser, your local center has several happenings throughout the year that depend on volunteers.

All volunteers that directly help families will be screened and undergo a background check. Individuals with a history of child maltreatment or personal assault are not eligible to volunteer. Other misdemeanor offenses will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For more information, contact your local center.
