On Sunday, August 14, 2011, the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins
Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will host its 28th
Annual Circles of Hope Telethon. This event will be held at
the Carl Perkins Civic Center and will be broadcast live on
WBBJ TV ABC 7 from 1:00-10:00 pm.

This year’s theme is Somewhere there’s
a Child – Child abuse is Real, Tragic, Preventable. The Carl
Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is asking
the community to get involved and join the team so that we
can get help to these children. This year is also National
Exchange Club’s 100 year anniversary of service to our
country.
“We are using the poem One Hundred
Years from Now…. One hundred years from now nobody will
remember who we were, what we did, or how much money we had,
but the world may be a little different and a little better
because we were important in the life of child. You are
important in the life of a child. To remind our community
what is really important, our children, and that getting
involved with the Telethon can help prevent child abuse, ”
said Anita Hamilton, 2011 Circles of Hope Telethon
Chairperson. “The 28th Annual Circles’ of Hope Telethon is
the primary fund raiser for the Exchange Club Carl Perkins
Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
All
funds raised are used to provide programs and services to
the children and families of West Tennessee. The Center now
has 18 locations and serves 21 counties and last year,
served over 6,453 individuals. The Center offers a variety
of services designed to meet each individual’s needs.

and case management, individual and group counseling, child
advocacy services, emergency services, parenting training
and parenting groups, supervised visitation, relative
